I’ll probably never forget being absolutely terrified for my very first Meet the Teacher, Open House, Sneak a Peek- whatever your school calls it! I had NO idea what to have on my students’ desks and what I should say to everyone!
Fast forward a few (or maybe more than a few years) and I do pretty much the same thing every year now! I have a couple different papers that I want my students’ families to fill out and leave with me and then some informational pages that they can take home. I also always give my students a little gift! This is what was on my students’ desk this year!
To make it even more organized, all the pages that I want families or guardians to complete, I copy on colored paper. All the informational pages that they can take home are copied on plain white paper! I have these pages in two separate piles on my students’ desks and then put their gift in the middle. This has worked really well for me for the last many years! It also makes it really easy when I am trying to find my student information sheets, because all the information sheets are on one color and the transportation sheets are on another color! I always use these Back to School Forms and just update them as needed!
This year for my students’ gifts I went with the smiley face trend! I used these smiley face mazes, yellow suckers and just added a smiley face sticker to the wrapper! Nothing fancy, but cute and easy! The Happy, Happier, Happiest Tags are some of my favorite Back to School Gift Tags!
I used these bags for the first time and I LOVE them! They are the 5×7 size and made packing their little gifts so easy! I plan on using them for different things throughout the year too!
I hope this helps with your own Meet the Teacher! It doesn’t have to be too complicated and hopefully a lot of FUN!
